Using advanced neurofeedback techniques. These techniques are instrumental in regulating brain function, improving emotional stability, and enhancing overall mental well-being. Getting to the root cause of these disorders is one of the most crucial elements of successful treatment, ensuring that even the most complex cases receive the targeted and effective care they require.

Trauma can take many forms, from a single catastrophic event like a violent incident, or service in combat to a series of ongoing traumatic experiences such as physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.  Individual levels of resilience vary, which is why one person may overcome a traumatic event without significant psychological impact, while another may develop maladaptive behaviors such as substance abuse, anger issues, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts.

Research indicates that traditional talk therapy may not effectively resolve trauma due to several factors. One concern is the potential for retraumatization by repeatedly discussing the event. Additionally, trauma is stored in the brain differently because of the heightened fight-or-flight response. The brain remains on high alert for triggers, which explains the flashbacks and reliving of traumatic experiences seen in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) sufferers. Dr. Curtis is trained in multiple modalities specifically designed for trauma resolution, and is confident in their effectiveness because of the research to support the modalities and extensive experience.
